John Bennet was born in England in 1569. This composer belonged to the Renaissance period, and died in 1619. John Bennet

John Bennet (1569 - 1619) was an English composer and madrigalist following in the footsteps of the famous founders of English madrigals, Thomas Morley, Thomas Weelkes. and John Wilbye. Little is known of his life. Thomas Morley commissioned and published one of Bennet's madrigals in his book The Triumphs of Oriana  published in 1615.
