Charles Dibdin was born in England in 1745. This composer belonged to the Romantic period, and died in 1814. Charles Dibdin Charles Dibdin (1745 -1814) was an English musician, actor, composer and writer. He wrote an opera "Liberty Hall" containing three successful songs, of which one is "The Bells of Aberdovey". The opera was produced at the Drury Lane Theatre in London on 8 February 1785.
