Zdenko Fibich was born in 1850 in Seborsitz, in Bohemia, which is now part of the Czech Republic. He died in Prague in 1900.   He is the 3rd most known of Czech romantic composers, after Dvorak and Smetana.  He trained in Germany, where he was influenced by Schumann and Wagner. He wrote symphonies, operas, and symphonic poems, but he is best known for his piano miniatures.
