CorelliArcangelo
Corelli was a composer and violinist from Rome. He helped
develop a new form, the 'Concerto Grosso' which has since evolved into the
modern Symphony and Concerto forms. He is also known as the founder of modern
violin technique. He met Handel when
Handel visited Rome, and introduced the style of the concerto grosso to him.
He composed several trio sonatas, some solo violin
pieces, several 'concerti grossi', and a jig or 'Giga' or 'Gigue', which is
available on Best Classical Tunes, played on the harpsichord.
