Eduard Lassen
Eduard Lassen (1830-1904) was a Danish-born Belgian composer
who succeeded Liszt as music director at the Weimar Court in 1858. He is mainly remembered for his operas
Le roi Edgard (1855) and Der Gefangene (1865) but composed many solo songs with piano or instrumental accompaniment.
(He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, but taken as a child to Brussels, Belgium, where he was brought up. He is thus considered to be a Belgian composer)
