ParadiesPietro
Domenico Paradies was born in Naples in 1707 and he died in
Venice in 1791.
Paradies always wrote his name this way (the Latin way), but in recent
times, many people are spelling it as Paradisi, which is the modern Italian
plural of paradiso = "paradise".
At first Paradies composed for the theatre. In 1746 he moved to
London, where stayed for 24 years, his most productive years. His musical style was influenced by Scarlatti. He became known as
a teacher of harpsichord and singing. In 1770 he returned to Italy.
