Symphony in C, 2nd movement Adagio Bizet Help Opus Details
For feedback and questions, please contact Victor Gomersall.
Bizet wrote this whilst only 17 years old, whilst studying at the Paris Conservatoire. His teacher was Charles Gounod, and there is a fair bit of 'borrowing' evident from Gounod's Symphony in D. This work was never published in Bizet's lifetime, but after its 'discovery' around 1930, it became a standard part of the convert repertoire in the 1st half of the 20th century.
