String Quartet No.2 in A 3rd movement Borodin Help Opus Details
For feedback and questions, please contact Victor Gomersall.
In 1871, the first professional string quartet in Russia was formed. This inspired Borodin to write two works of this genre, of which his second is by far the better-known. It is particularly famous for its 3rd movement, an exotic, ravishing Nocturne. However the other movements are all good listening.

This famous 3rd movement of Borodin's string quartet in A is often called the 'Notturno" since it resembles somewhat the dreamy languid nocturnes of Chopin.
