Slavonic Dance Op 46 No.8 in G minor Dvořák Help Opus Details
For feedback and questions, please contact Victor Gomersall.
Dvorak wrote his Slavonic Dances Op 46 in 1878, after Brahms encouraged him to write some music based on dance forms, and Brahms also introduced Dvorak to Brahms' own publisher. Unlike Brahms' own Hungarian dances, which actually use some Hungarian folk tunes, Dvorak's tunes are all his own original work, though he certainly drew inspiration from the style of slavonic folk music, and the form of Brahms' Hungarian Dances.
