Pavanne in F# Minor for orchestra Op 50 Fauré Help Opus Details
For feedback and questions, please contact Victor Gomersall.
This Pavanne is a short work for orchestra with an optional chorus by Fauré dating from 1887. It has a wistful haunting tune which has made it the most popular orchestral work by Fauré. The pavane is originally a slow prccession-like dance originating in Padova, Italy during the days when a Spanish court presided in that city-state. Fauré's music captures the formal elegance of that epoque.
