California (from West To East - Suite for Orchestra) Gomersall Help Opus Details
For feedback and questions, please contact Victor Gomersall.
The journey starts on the West coast of USA at Santa Monica in California. Here the beach culture is a dominant feaure of the Californian lifestyle, and the masses of young people enthusiastically playing volleyball on the wide sandy beaches are portrayed with some rhythmic and melodic snippets reminiscent of the Beach Boys' hit songs A serene contrast follows with wildflowers at Point Lobos, then San Francisco is energetically pictured, with quotes from two songs from the 1930s. Misty rocks at Big Sur portrays the sea splashing over rocks on a typical misty morning. Magical Carmel is a beautful peaceful place, represented by a sweeping lyrical tune. Lastly, the grandeur and majesty of Yosemite and the imposing mountain 'El Capitan' are portrayed.
