Piano Concerto No.1 in Eb Liszt Help Opus Details
For feedback and questions, please contact Victor Gomersall.
Franz Liszt began writing his first piano concerto in 1830, but its first performance had to wait for 25 years and inumerable revisions. Finally this famous first performance happened in 1855, with Liszt himself at the piano, and conducted by Berlioz.

The octave tutti opening passage is incredibly dramatic, amongst the handfull of "iconic" and instantly recognizable openings in the orchestral repertoire. The pace remains furious for most of the work, with massive displays of pianistic pyrotechnics. The midi file is complete. The mp3 recording is a short extract which just gives a taste for this work.
