Piano Trio in G K564 1st movement Allegro Mozart Help Opus Details
For feedback and questions, please contact Victor Gomersall.
Mozart wrote this piano trio in 1786.

The first movement opens with the first theme played by the piano, against G played by the violin and cello and sustained for 6 bars. Then in bar 9 the violin and cello take the tune accompanied by semiquaver figures on the piano. The piano then modulates into D major, so the strings can play the 2nd theme in that key. The development section starts in D minor then modulates through various keys, leading back to G major for the recapitulation. Theme 1 is on the piano first, then on the violin, as in the exposition. But when theme 2 reapears, it is played on the cello, and it is in the home key of G, leading to the coda.
