Sur Le Pont Help Opus Details
For feedback and questions, please contact Victor Gomersall.
A French nursery rhyme about people dancing in a circle on the ruins of a roman bridge in Avignon.
Sur le pont d'Avignon, On the bridge at Avignon,
L'on y danse, L'on y danse, There one dances, there one dances,
Sur le pont d"Avignon, On the bridge at Avignon,
L'on y danse tout en rond There one dances, all in a circle.

In Avignon the broken remains of an ancient Roman bridge get you only half way across the river, so its main use these days is obviously for dancing in circles!  (Once upon a time, the Pope even had his residence at a palace in Avignon.)
