A Suite is simply a longer work
comprising several movements, but without the formal structure of a
Famous Baroque suites include Handel's Water music and his Fireworks music,
and Bach's English suite. Grieg wrote his 'Peer Gynt Suite', and Holst 'The
Planets Suite'. Romantic composers often created suites out of their
ballet and opera scores. Well-known examples are Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker suite,
though this is catalogued here under 'Ballet Music', and Bizet's Carmen suite.
